Health care close to home is for everyone in Eastern Kings, and so is our website.

The Eastern Kings Health Foundation wants everyone, including people with disabilities and older adults, to be able to learn about our work, read our stories and give with ease. We aim for our website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
What we’ve done
- A “Skip to main content” link and clear page structure, with headings and landmarks for screen reader users.
- Every page and menu can be used with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus outline.
- Text alternatives (alt text) for meaningful images.
- Text and background colours chosen for strong contrast.
- Pages that adapt to phones and tablets and still work when text is enlarged or the page is zoomed to 200%.
- Reduced animation for visitors who turn on “reduce motion” in their device settings.
- Plain, clear language wherever we can.
We tested the site with automated accessibility checks and keyboard navigation when it launched in October 2026, and we will keep checking as we add new content.
Known limitations
- Online donations are completed on CanadaHelps, a separate website. CanadaHelps is responsible for the accessibility of its donation forms.
- Facebook and other outside websites we link to are not managed by us and may not meet the same standard.
- Older photos may have shorter descriptions. If a photo matters to you and the description isn’t enough, let us know.
